HOME
HOME is a space of dreams, desires, memories, and losses—it can be physical, symbolic, or imagined. The Portuguese Contemporary Ballet Company (CPBC) opens its home to be the home of others, becoming a place of encounter and creation through dance. Six choreographers present their visions of HOME in four distinct pieces:
- SOPRO – A garden full of metal , by César Fernandes & André Mesquita: “The dance here is lived in the instant — between flesh and shadow, presence and mystery… Each gesture is revelation and silence, a space where the unspeakable manifests itself.”
- HABITA-ME , by Miguel Santos: bodies freed from symbols and cultural references reveal themselves as spaces inhabited by memory.
- LIGHT | TEN , by Beatriz Mira & Tiago Barreiros: In a reflection on lucidity, two characters express themselves in the urgency of interactions that blur the boundary between the public and the private.
- SUITE , by Vânia Doutel Vaz: Suite is constructed from multiple meanings. A dancer encounters her body, the studio, and the stage as intimate, comfortable places, yet full of conflict.
This program inaugurates the Route of Small Stages , a new line of action by CPBC that aims to bring dance closer to new audiences and contexts. Through this journey, dance is proposed as a means of dialogue and sharing, inviting reflection on the meaning of HOME.
